From the airports
When you arrive in Faro or Lisbon you can choose between the train, bus or rental car. From Faro you may also have access to our transfer service or a taxi. Should you require, we can book a rental car for you.
If you want to travel by bus or train from the airport to Maravilhas we recommend an early morning flight on your outward flight and an evening flight on your return trip.

Accessibility by train
Monte Maravilhas is accessible via the train from the airports Faro and Lisbon. For more information about the train in Portugal go to www.cp.pt.
From Faro airport
Take the taxi or bus to the Faro railway station. Take the train in the direction of Lisbon and get off at Funcheira station.
Maravilhas is located approximately 12 km from Funcheira. It is sometimes possible to take a taxi from the station or use our transfer service.
From Lisbon airport
You can take the underground, a taxi or bus from Lisboa-Oriente railway station. Take the train in the direction of Faro and get off at Funcheira station.
From Funcheira station it is 12 km. It is sometimes possible to take a taxi from the station or use our transfer service.
Accessibility by rental car
Should you choose a holiday by air and rental car, it is best to arrange all this before leaving home. Book a “fly/drive” to Faro, as it is cheaper to do this in advance instead of upon arrival.
We can also book a rental car for you with a rental company in Faro. The car will be ready on arrival at Faro airport and can be returned to the same airport. For this we need the following details: name, rental period (pick up date and delivery date), flight numbers and times of arrival and departure from Faro airport.
Route description Faro airport – Monte Maravilhas
- From Faro airport follow the signs A22 in the direction of Lisboa
- After about 30 kms turn right at the Ourique IC1 sign
- Leave the IC1 at the Santana da Serra turn
- Follow the signs in the direction of São Martinho das Amoreiras.
- 1 km before the village São Martinho a sign on the left side of the road points in the direction of Maravilhas
- Follow the dirt road and after 400m you’ll see the first houses

Take the taxi or bus to Faro bus station. Take the bus in the direction of Lisbon and transfer in the city Ourique. From here you can travel by taxi or use our transfer service to Maravilhas (20 km).

Take the bus or taxi to the bus station. Take the bus in the direction of Faro and transfer in the city Ourique. From here you can travel by taxi or use our transfer service to Maravilhas (20 km).
Transfer service Monte Maravilhas
Monte Maravilhas has its own transfer service to and from Faro airport. We have a van which can carry a maximum of 5 passengers.
If you wish to use this transfer service please let us know as early as possible.
Accessibility by taxi
Travel by taxi Portugal to the quiet Monte Maravilhas valley in the Alentejo, approximately 100 km northwest of Faro.
