Highlights Monte Maravilhas

New Team member

We welcomed a new Maravilhas team member: Michaela. Born in Moldova and raised in Italy.
Our team is now a nice international mix: Nira and Maia from Malta, Arupa from
England, Michaela from Moldova and Prem from the Netherlands. And of course, the guests who come to Maravilhas also come from all over the world. That’s what makes it so fun and dynamic here with all the diverse backgrounds and cultures.

Rainy winter

After years of dry winters, it rained a lot last winter. The result is an abundance of flowers and stunning green nature. The beautiful colored fields never get boring, and are a pleasure to enjoy every year.
The wells were overflowing, and so was our bore hole. We were therefore very happy with a wet winter.

Veggie garden

Our vegetable garden was started with great enthusiasm. The soil was dug up and fertilized with our compost. Sowing  and planted is now done. The irrigation system on the land was checked and renewed where necessary. To water the vegetable garden, the many plants and flowers on Maravilhas, we use drip irrigation system and computers with timers.

Landcleaning

Tom, our tree specialist, usually comes to prune our many fruit trees in February. Due to the heavy rainfall, there was quite a bit of upturned bushes on the land. Arupa, Lars and Joao came into action with brush cutters. Mowing around the houses is mandatory to reduce the risk of fire in summer. Our access road also got a facelift.

Retreats on Monte Maravilhas

We offer several retreats per year, such as hiking, painting and yoga weeks.

There was also a retreat in April with singing bowls, taught by Heather and Gabriella from Resoundingearth. Feel free to take a look at the website resoundingearth.com

Are you a Last minute decision-maker? There are still a few spots left for the painting week in June. Take a look at our agenda www.montemaravilhas.com

Also, if you  want to hold your own retreat with us, check out our website for the possibilities: www.montemaravilhas.com

or send us an email to: info@montemaravilhas.com

Spring cleaning & unexpected visitors

Because of the abundance of flowers, the bees came into action…. so did a swarm of bees in our garage. Our fellow villager Vitor came to help us out in special clothes and took the bees to a beekeeper. Spring is the time for cleaning. The pressure washer was used to clean all the terraces near the houses and the swimming pool.
The wooden garden furniture was given a new coat of varnish as was the meditation platform and the outside of the yurt. The washrooms in Terra , the communal showers and toilets, were painted and refurbished.

Hiking week

The hiking week was again a success, every year guests leaving to their homes recharged. We received this feedback from one of the participants:

Hi Prem, thanks for the nice photo.  It was a nice group all together like this. Thanks again.  It was like good old times. Your warm welcome and the beautiful tranquil surroundings.  I love it! As far as I am concerned, until next year. Then, too, I hope to find you and the group in good health. I really enjoyed it.
Warm regards, Ina

Yurt activities

The activities in the yurt can be seen on our website (the singing circle is every Thursday and is an ongoing success).

Enjoy!
